Weight Loss Resources 2010
Weight Loss Resources’ program relies on you to set your goals and record your progress. Their philosophy is simply counting calories; calories in vs. calories out.
This program heavily relies on you to take responsibility for your own actions and choices. We would have liked to have seen Weight Loss Resources customize meal plans and workouts. However, it is one of the cheaper services we reviewed and we liked the no pressure approach.
Food:
Food diaries help keep a daily count of calories consumed vs. calories burned. You can choose from a list of 300 popular foods like bacon, various fruits, peanuts and garlic bread, or if you know the nutritional value, you can add your own. The log is designed to help you record your meals and snacks, and understand your caloric intake. This is a UK based program; however, they do have an American food log.
Exercise:
The exercise program works similarly to the food log. For every exercise you do, there are a number of calories burned. For example, every five minutes of bowling expends 25 calories. Listed exercises even include household activities like dusting, weeding and ironing. You can create your own exercise plans by choosing a number of workouts from the list and applying them to your daily life.
Community:
Most of the community found in the Weight Loss Resource site is in the member forums. Here members tell stories about their success, their troubles, their struggles and over all advice. They also have a chat room that allows you to talk to likeminded members. Although, when we signed on there wasn’t anyone in the chat room. The helpteam is available Monday thru Friday through email.
Additional Tools:
This was one of the most informative services we found. Weight Loss Resources provides a wealth of articles and information pertaining to diet and health. Many of them are written by doctors and nutritionist. Weight Loss Resources does have a telephone contact; however, it is located in the United Kingdom.
Ease of Use/Support:
Weight Loss Resource is primarily a food and exercise log program. Although it is easy to use and understand, there may be a lot of initial work in the beginning on the behalf of the user. We suggest you take your time and fill in all the information. It will work out for you in the end.
Summary:
Weight Loss Resources’ whole program is entirely up to the individual. There are no custom meal or exercise plans and although the food log is helpful it may be initially frustrating setting up your favorites list.
Weight Loss Resources bills monthly, quarterly and semi–annually. Remember this is a British based company, but they do have a U.S. billing option. Look for it on the left-side navigation.
