“Dr. Stoppler, I am always working on a diet and I’ve decided since they never work for me I’m going to take the word ‘diet’ out of what I’m trying to do and just call it a weight loss program. Do you think you can give me a specific example of a successful ‘no-diet’ weight loss program? Sure, I think you’ve made a wise decision. I think that the best way to lose weight and keep it off is to make some gradual and small modifications in your lifestyle, rather than to follow a strict and restrictive diet that is just going to make you feel deprived and hypoglycemic most of the time. Let’s take the case of a woman in her mid-forties who complains that she put on 12 pounds in the past year… ”
