Lose Weight Sensibly



It’s easy to say goodbye to 10 pounds of unwanted fat if you pay attention to what you eat and be sure to have fresh and healthy snacks always handy; fill up on vegetables, and tingle your taste buds with lots of good in-season fruit. Losing weight can be healthy and sustainable. You can lose weight sensibly.

You don’t have to sacrifice good taste to dieting. Just follow this simple weight loss plan and you’ll lose those 10 pounds quickly, whether it’s the first or last 10 pounds you need to lose. This simple little program can give your weight loss plan a pick-me-up if it’s hit the wall. You can use this flexible and balanced plan as long as you want.

1. Make a list of all that you eat and drink. Write down the things you eat and the approximate quantity. You’re doing this just to make you AWARE of what you’re putting into your mouth, not to count calories.

2. Cut back on sweets. Limit yourself to sugared treats to three times a week. You don’t need the list – anything that is made with white processed sugar is on the list.

3. Cut your usage of fat intake by half. You do this by only using as half as much butter or margarine on your potatoes, toast, muffins, and bread. Cut back mayonnaise by half, dressing usage on salads and oil in the frying pan.

4. Eat smaller meals more often. Instead of three huge meals, eat five smaller ones.

5. Eat your larger meals at the beginning of the day. There’s an old saying, “eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.” Combine this with your smaller mean plan and you’ll be feeling better in no time.

6. Get rid of so much red meat. Reduce your intake of red meat – you don’t have to eliminate it entirely, but cut back. Chicken, fish, beans, cottage cheese, and low fat yogurt are good protein substitutes. Eggs and nuts are ok occasionally, but not every day.

7. Substitute fresh in-season fruit for your sweet snacks. Have at least two servings of fruit every day.

8. Get rid of the juices and sodas, diet sodas as well. Drink water instead. Try lemon in your water, it acts as a cleansing agent and gives the water a great taste. Or try iced tea with a bit of lemon and sprig of mint.

9. You can’t eat ENOUGH vegetables. Two servings at every meal would help to fill you up, give you the vitamins you need and will help burn fat instead of create it.

10. Eat slowly. When you race through your meals, your body doesn’t register your food. Chew your food well, it aids in digestion and makes the meal last longer.

All in all, pay attention to what you eat. Don’t eat after 7:00 pm at night, that’s a bad habit and generally you end up sleeping on it. Keep to the “pauper” rule and eat less for your evening meal.

Developing healthy habits will complement your weight loss plan and help you to lose weight and keep it off. The bottom line is to not only lose weight but to keep it off.

Fad diets, diet crazes, the latest pill and eat only one-kind-of-food diets last only as long as you pay attention to them. Sooner or later the end results are distressing. The minute you quit the latest craze, the fat climbs back on board.
