Weight Loss Pictures — 344 Pounds

The first picture is one of the very first before shots I ever posted. It was at a cousin’s wedding in December of 2008, right before I started my journey.

I remember the day this picture was taken.

It took me hours to find a decent dress shirt and pants — I couldn’t make a trip to my beloved Big & Tall store due to a lack of time, I had to rely on the mall. I finally found a 4XL shirt at Dillard’s and a pair of khakis (48 or 50 w) to accompany it.

10 Ways to Right-Size Your Meals and Lose Weight

Portion distortion is one of the prime causes of America’s obesity epidemic, yet most of us don’t realize that we overeat — or that when it comes to reining in calories, serving size is crucial. Here’s how you can downsize your portions and still feel satisfied.

    1. Contemplating seconds? Wait 10 minutes. Your stomach needs about that long to signal the brain that it’s full, so stall before helping yourself to more mashed potatoes or lasagna. Keep the conversation going, tell a joke, or if you’re dining alone, read the newspaper or walk around the house. If you’re truly hungry after the delay, have seconds of the veggies or salad.

    2. Quit the clean plate club. One in four Americans eat everything they’re served no matter how big the portions, surveys reveal. A better strategy: Eat a healthy portion, then stop. It’s better to waste a little food (and save it for tomorrow) than to overload your body.

    How to Lose Belly Fat

Belly fat, which is also referred to as stomach fat, visceral fat, pot belly, and so on, is the kind of fat that is found deeper in the body compared to subcutaneous fat, which is located just under the skin. Belly fat is particularly dangerous since it collects around the organs in the abdomen. Health practitioners are sounding the alarm increasingly as more and more Americans are being diagnosed each day with high levels of cholesterol, diabetes, heart diseases, and so on all of them linked to belly fat. So, here are some tips on how to lose belly fat:

Lose belly fat by eating 5-6 times in a day. That does not mean 5 to 6 big meals; rather it is about eating smaller meals more frequently. Usually, when we eat the traditional way, eating 3 times a day, we tend to binge, which leads to belly fat. By eating 5-6 small meals a day regularly, it prevents you from overeating. Plus, it also helps in boosting the metabolism, since the body requires energy to digest the food. And, while following this plan, it is also a good idea to keep the heaviest meals at the start of the day and reduce the amount at the end of the day.

New Drug May Boost Weight Loss Efforts

New Drug May Boost Weight Loss Efforts

Oct. 22, 2008 — An experimental diet drug may prove to be twice as effective as currently available weight loss medications if results from an early study are confirmed.

Researchers did not compare the drug tesofensine head-to-head with currently approved weight loss medications. But researcher Arne Astrup, MD, of the University of Copenhagen tells WebMD that the weight loss in the study was roughly double that reported in trials of these drugs.
